NETO BÁFICA BIOGRAPHY
Brazilian singer/ songwriter/ musician and musical producer, Neto is first of all a very passionate one for the life, jazz and soul music. Neto Báfica was born in Rio de Janeiro but moved early in 80s with his mother to be raised in Canavieiras/ Bahia(northeast of Brazil). His musical career began there with 13 years old as a bass/guitar player accompanying gospel singers in church bands.
The musicality was growing quickly over and over and a few years later he knew already to play guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, cavaquinho(brazilian instrument), mandolim, spanish guitar(flamenco, classical and popular) and started to write songs.
At 17 years old he came out to play many gigs all over the city, performing as a guitar player in bands, clubs, concerts, etc. After some time he realized that it needed to move forward to look for better opportunities in the field of music. That was how it began in Salvador(Capital of Bahia) staying for a while at his father's house. Most of time rehearsing, exchanging experiences with other musicians, composing and singing at bars and restaurants.
Years later he would move to Rio de Janeiro bringing only corageous and no money in the pocket. After trying a lot, there came an opportunity to work as a singer in a small group performing at wedding parties, hotels, music houses, clubs and so on. A big step developing his skills and acquiring more knowledge in music as well.
Neto Báfica has made over 400 songs(Portuguese french and english songs) so far in his career. Until now it brings many ballads, dance, gospel, forrós, rocks, and lot's of more. Many songs are being recorded all over Brazil and abroad by bands, other singers and by himself.
As a singer Neto's been influenced by Michael Bolton, Michael McDonald, Lionel Ritchie, Stevie Wonder, Frank Sinatra, Djavan and a coulple more singers in this segment. He can also sing in 6 languages: English, french, italian, spanish, hebrew and arabic.
As a guitar player his influences are: Hendrix, Slach, Yingwie Malmsteen and a bit more. He used to say that as a composer he is open minded. "It's always good to know what's going on in the world wide music scene.
His music style crosses between romantic, and soul(sometimes with a bit of jazz and rock).
